Kralendijk

After his 11th visit to Bonaire, Mr. Lothar Doehle was elected a Bonaire Ambassador.	Here is official celebration at the touristboard of Bonaire.	And here you see the "New Bonaire Ambassador" with his wife at their private "ambassador party".
Kralendijk is the main town of Bonaire with 14.400 citizens. The Kaya Grandi is the Avenue of Bonaire. Here is also the tourist information office. There you will find brochures and information material about the places of interest.	The harbour is a favoured anchor place for luxury liners from all over the world. During winter season, large liners anchor weekly. The arrival of these liners are spectacular happenings and attract many onlookers to the pier.	The cultural influence of the Dutch played an important role in the construction of official buildings, defence areas and houses, as well as the economic possibilities of the island, the availability of materials and climatic environment.	The self reliant construction style on Bonaire results mostly in houses with one level, built from local stones, plastered and painted with bright colours.
The Fort Oranje with guns directed to the open sea. It houses the port authority and harbour master. Permits for dives at the salt pier are issued here.	The fish market was built 1935 in roman style. Today it is the market for fresh imported Venezuela vegetable and fruits.	The supply of fresh food is guaranteed. Almost every day ships deliver fresh vegetable and fruit from Venezuela.	The administration of the island takes great efforts to keep streets and the island clean. Please help make Bonaire remain one of the most clean islands of the Caribbean.

Music and entertainment

Besides diving and other water sport activities, there are many other forms of entertainment. Steel bands, Mariachi musicians or live bands present themselves in hotels or open air bars during happy hour or later in the evening. Sunday afternoon; don't miss dance and music at Lac Cai together with locals and tourists. The best sorted wine cellar and excellent Italian food: Meet Andrea at the restaurant Capriccio.

Underwater World

Underwater Nature Park Bonaire. This dive map shows 60 registered diving sites. Most of them are accessible by car.

Hilmar Hooker is the only dive site with underwater traffic!

Black and white feather star nestling on sponges and searching for food.

He hovers mostly vertical between branches of Gorgonians. With his natural camouflage he is difficult to find.

Lives in partnership with Anemones and uses the long fins for stabilization. Under attack he retreats between the tentacles.

Found often in pairs on the reef. He is relatively friendly and can be approached closely.
The young live in the reef and sandy places but often close to holes and gaps.
